Elisa & Brian
Gown Details: Stella York (6718) in dove satin
This August Pure Bliss bride Elisa tied the knot to her now husband, Brian on a picturesque day by the ocean at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, New Hampshire.
After an unexpected proposal, Elisa went shopping with what she had in mind as her perfect gown.
Popping the Question:“We were getting ready to go to a preseason Bruins Hockey game. He got down on one knee and asked me if I would promise to by him oysters at the Garden and then gave the ring and asked me to marry him.”
Relationships are all about a little give and take - am I right? ;)
Elisa went with a beautiful Stella York gown (6718), and made a few adjustments during fittings to make it her perfect style and fit.
Finding the Gown:“I am an older bride and wanted something elegant and sophisticated. I love the feel and simplicity of the dress, but I did not like the straps and did not want strapless. I worked with Lisa, the seamstress and Jeanine, the owner to make the dress perfect. I had the straps sewn in to the top of the dress and added bling to them. I added a satin belt and added bling to it. It is a pretty dress plain but I wanted to add something to it. Lisa and Jeanine work with me to make sure I loved my dress which I did! I loved that it had pockets, nice added feature!”
This is such a good example of how to make a dress truly yours and how to feel most comfortable on your special day! We’re so glad Elisa knew exactly what she wanted and how she wanted to feel, so that we could help her achieve that.
Prepping: “It was a very relaxing morning. All my girls including my mom and mother in law were around. The photographers came around 1:45 and starting to take prep pictures. I did a first look with my father which was very special! It was a nice, relaxing time with my family and girls before the craziness started….My favorite was spending the day with friends and family. My only regret is that it went by too fast.”
How special to do a “first look” with the brides father- instead of groom! We love this idea.
Despite being sick day of, Elisa and Brian’s wedding went without a hitch and their nautical themed magical day came to life. Adding special touches such as buoys for table numbers and lobster whoopee pies as favors were just small gestures compared to how they chose to honor Brian’s late father, who had passed away not to long before the wedding, and who’s birthday it would have been.
The Big Day:“I had the violinist and cellist play "Happy Birthday" for their last song which was a surprise to everyone. It was a very special moment to include him in our day. He loved ice cream and so we celebrated him by having an ice cream bar instead of cake. It was a hit!”
We’re so happy for Elisa and so thankful we were able to be a small part of this big day for her.
Thank you to Elisa for letting us in on how this intimate and special selection of moments.
